SCA Analytical Services has expanded its toolkit with the purchase of a Massa ICP (ICAP-Q). This instrument uses a very sensitive technique capable of determining various inorganic metallic substances present in concentrations below one part per billion. It uses an ICP plasma torch to produce ionization and a mass spectrometer for separation and detection of the ions produced. With the ICP-MS it is also possible to perform isotopic analysis.
